The WHS Yellowjackets
The WHS Yellowjackets were a girls' soccer team from Wiskayok High School in the town of Wiskayok, New Jersey. Made of exceptional teenage girls, they won their 1996 state championship and were on their way to Nationals in Seattle.
Unfortunately, their private plane took an unexpected detour due to bad weather and crashed into the Canadian wilderness. The team was stranded for 19 months and forced to fight for their survival. No one else knows what truly happened during that time.
After 25 years, the survivors are still struggling as the desperate measures they were forced to take are revealed.

Trivia[]
- According to the original script for the "Pilot" of Yellowjackets, Taissa was the team's star mid-fielder, with Jackie as the striker.[1]
- The exact number of team members and subsequent crash survivors is not clearly stated in season one. Throughout the season, the number of background characters changes from only the main speaking/credited roles in some scenes to at least twenty-two in others (such as episode three when the line of survivors is shown hiking to the lake). Thus the exact number of survivors stranded in the woods is unknown. The reasons are likely practical; to avoid having an overwhelming number of main characters and also budgetary to not have over a dozen additional background characters on set at all times. Season 2 named the character previously known only as "Yellowjacket #1" as "Gen" and added two other new characters - Crystal and Melissa. Season 3 named two more characters that were introduced but unnamed in Season 2, Britt and Robin.
- According to a background actress who portrayed an unnamed Yellowjacket in Season 1, six extras and two stunt performers (excluding Gen and Yellowjacket 2) made up the background cast for the team and recurred throughout the season.[2]
- Additionally, with the introductions of new named characters in later seasons, it's likely that their characters are intended to represent recast versions of these previously uncredited characters.[3]

- According to Shauna herself, she did not like soccer and only joined the team because Jackie pressured her to do so. This makes her the only known member of the team who actually did not want to be on it.
