Profile[]

As a teenage boy, Jeff Sadecki was in a relationship with Jackie, the captain of the WHS Yellowjackets soccer team. They had been off and on since freshman year and were building towards having sex for the first time. Jeff told Jackie he loved her the day before the team left for the championship game. However we see that he has been secretly sleeping with her best friend Shauna, when the two have sex in his car after dropping Jackie off following a party. He states that he thought they weren't going to do it "again" but continues anyway, getting Shauna pregnant in the process. The girls are lost in the wilderness when their plane crashes. When they are rescued 19 months later, Jackie does not return with them having apparently died.

25 years later, Jeff is married to Shauna and they are parents to teenage Callie, who is not the same child that Jeff originally impregnated her with. It is clear that the marriage is not going well. The two are in couples therapy, and it soon becomes apparent that Jeff is likely cheating on Shauna with a woman named Bianca. Shauna intercepts a message on Jeff's phone from this woman which tells him to meet her tomorrow at 4 P.M. at the "usual place." The next day, she follows him to a hotel where she sees the two of them together.

Believing Jeff to be cheating on her, Shauna begins seeing another man that she met by getting into a fender-bender with him, "Adam Martin." The two soon begin a wild affair, even going so far as to sleep together in the Sadecki family bedroom, hiding him in the closet when Jeff arrives home. Meanwhile, Jeff continues to work late nights on thin excuses, claiming that there is an ongoing problem with the furniture store's "inventory database." However, when he and Shauna attend a birthday dinner with the parents of Jackie, Jeff defends Shauna against Mrs. Taylor's passive-aggressive comments, telling her that Shauna is the smartest person he's ever met and that he was sleeping with her when he was still with Jackie. Later, he tells Shauna that he meant every word and that he doesn't regret marrying her.

Shauna murders Adam Martin, believing him to be the man who was blackmailing her and her fellow Yellowjackets. She later returns home, however, and discovers Jeff with glitter, glitter which got onto the blackmailer when she and her fellow Yellowjackets were chasing him. He reveals that he is in fact the blackmailer, that his furniture store has been struggling to compete against the online retailer FurnitureFam.com. He took out a loan from some bad people, loan sharks, and defaulted, causing them to come after him. He thought of Shauna's friends, Natalie and Taissa and figured that at least one of them would have the money he needed, but never meant for her to get involved. He tells her that it's alright, though, that he was able to get the "bad loan people" the money and the furniture business is saved.

Shauna, however, tells Jeff that it is not alright, that she murdered Adam, that she thought he was the blackmailer. Stunned, he asks how it is that she even knows Adam in the first place. She explains that Adam is the person she got into a fender-bender with and afterwards, she started seeing him. She tells him that he can't blame her, that he was, after all, seeing Bianca. Jeff, however, rages at this, explaining that Bianca scares him, that she was one of the "bad loan people." He is shocked to hear that she was having an affair, but she mocks how he swallowed all of her lies about attending book club. "What? There's no book club?!" he shouts.

Jeff tells Shauna that they both watch Dateline and so they know how things will turn out, that Shauna would never get away with it. He says that therefore he's going to go to the cops and turn himself in, claiming that things got out of hand after he went to confront his wife's lover. Shauna says that she can't let him do this. He says he won't let her take fall because of something that happened because of his blackmail scheme, but she explains that it's more complicated than this. She says that if he takes the fall, it's likely that the cops will find out what else he was up to. If it were to get out that the Yellowjackets were being blackmailed because of what they did in the woods, then both their lives and Callie's would be ruined. She says that they just have to think and there must be other options.

Shauna asks Jeff if there's anybody else that knows about the blackmail. He tells her that Randy Walsh does, that he's his best friend and he had to tell him, that he had to turn to somebody for help. She asks why he wouldn't just tell her that the store was in trouble. He points out that she has a whole safe full of secrets she never told him about, referring to the journals she had kept from the wilderness. She is shocked to find out that he had known about the journals for years and had read them a long time ago. Even more shocking to her is that he still loves her after doing so, which he assures her. She wonders when it is that they became these people who lie and cheat and simply stay together just because. He asks her what she means, saying that secrets have always been a part of them. They decide on a plan: if Shauna believed that Adam was blackmailing her, then that's what she'll tell the other Yellowjackets as the story.

Shauna succeeds in convincing the other Yellowjackets that Adam Martin was the blackmailer and they, end turn, help her to get rid of Adam's body Her and Jeff's problems, however, do not end there. She reveals to Jeff that Adam had an art studio and that she does not know what might be there. The two of them therefore secretly pay the studio a visit and discover it to be filled with portraits that Adam had made of Shauna, despite her never having posed for him. Jeff asks Shauna what she was thinking and she tells him that the thought of him with someone else scared her, but also weirdly turned her on. She says that she used to think herself some sort of pervert for this, but that now she likes herself as she is. The two of them have sex right there in the art studio, then use paint thinner to obliterate the portraits. Afterwards, back at home, they hold a cookout using the grill which actually involves Shauna's journals from the wilderness, as well as Adam Martin's driver's license that she was hanging onto. They also cook actual food in order to try to cover up the oddness of the fact that they are cooking out in November. After dinner, however, their suspicious daughter, Callie, checks the grill, and discovers a piece of Adam Martin's ID that didn't get burned away completely, with his face on it.

Jeff chooses to stand by Shauna when the police and particularly, Detective Kevyn Tan, start investigating her in relation to the disappearance of Adam Martin. At one point, he goes so far as to confront Kevyn in the gym, telling him to lay off of Shauna, asserting that she is his wife and he trusts her completely. Secretly, however, Jeff starts to become worried about Shauna, particularly when she takes actions such as personally disarming a man who attempts to carjack them and he later discovers that she has kept the gun that she took off of the carjacker.

When Shauna is called into the local police station for questioning along with Callie, who has been caught in an undercover sting operation, Jeff sits outside in the car, listening to N.W.A.'s "Fuck the Police." While waiting, he receives a call from Shauna's fellow Flight 2525 survivor Taissa Turner, who reveals that another of the fellow survivors, Lottie Matthews, is alive and running a cult compound called Camp Green Pine within driving distance of New Jersey. When Shauna returns and reveals that she may have said too much to the police, the two of them agree that it might be best for Shauna to hide away at Camp Green Pine for the time being.

While Shauna is away, Jeff sees on the news that the police have discovered the remains of Adam Martin buried at a park. He puts in a call to the compound and informs Shauna of what has happened. He and Callie are again confronted by the police, this time with graphic images of Adam Martin's dismembered body, but Jeff refuses to crack. That evening, however, he has a disturbing dream in which Shauna confronts him, one of her arms in the form of a chainsaw, and tries to cut him up just as she did Adam. Waking with a start, he discovers Callie awake as well and drinking alcohol. Callie asks him if she is like Shauna and he agrees that the both of them are smart and funny. She tells him this isn't what she meant and he tells her that Shauna went through a lot in the wilderness, revealing that among other things Shauna had a male child that was stillborn in the wilderness. Callie is stunned to learn she had a brother she never knew about.

Jeff decides to travel to Camp Green Pine to personally support Shauna, taking Callie with him. On the way there, Callie confronts him on having started the whole mess by engaging in the blackmail. In response, he defends himself by stating that the American family is crumbling and it's hard now making a living in sectionals. The two are unwittingly followed to Camp Green Pine by Kevyn Tan and his partner, Matt Saracusa.

Callie discovers that the gun that Shauna appropriated from the carjacker is now being stored within the glove compartment of the car they took to Camp Green Pine. She and Jeff end up splitting up and she ends up in a confrontation with Matt Saracusa in the woods of the camp. Meanwhile, Jeff seeks out and finds Kevyn Tan, who is currently with Walter Tattersall, a citizen detective of unclear purposes who has been conducting his own investigations into both Camp Green pine and the Adam Martin affair. Jeff presents himself before Kevyn, telling him that he wants him to arrest him, that he was the one who killed Adam Martin, that it was a crime of passion after finding Adam with Shauna. He tells him that he did it to protect his family.

Before Kevyn can really process this, he collapses to the ground. Walter then steps forward, revealing that he poisoned Kevyn with phenobarbital. He introduces himself as a friend of Misty Quigley, another of Shauna's fellow Yellowjackets survivors, and declares that what Jeff just did was a beautiful false confession and that he could see that he did it out of love. He tells Jeff that everything will be fine, asking for his help in moving the body. With Jeff's aid, he then uses a voice-changing app to lure Kevyn's partner Matt, then grabs his gun and fires shots into Kevyn. He then lays out a scenario for Matt: that the police will discover a wealth of evidence linking Kevyn not only to the murder of Adam Martin, but also that of the death of the political operative Jessica Roberts. He continues that Matt can be a hero who nearly lost his life helping to uncover this, or the evidence can point to him instead.

Jeff later reunites with Shauna and Callie who suffered a harrowing experience - Shauna having been hunted by her fellow Yellowjackets in a re-creation of the ordeals they underwent in the wilderness of Canada. During this, another of Shauna's fellow Yellowjackets survivors was inadvertently killed by Misty. Jeff watches along with his wife and daughter as Lottie, leader of Camp Green Pine, is taken away a van to be committed once again for a time to a mental institution.

Jeff attends Natalie's memorial service along with Shauna, Taissa and Van and chastises Shauna for swearing. Later, he is upset when Callie is suspended from school for tossing guts at a group of girls, believing her to have been deeply affected by what happened at Camp Green Pine, but not realizing that she simply did it because the girls were talking trash about Shauna. Later, when he discovers Callie up at night making a banana split, he reminds her that she is suspended, not having a vacation, and tells her to go to bed.

When Lottie shows up at the Sadecki family home, asking for a place to stay having been released from the mental institution, Jeff is fully in agreement with Shauna that she should not be anywhere near them. Callie, however, manages to convince them to let her stay. He and Shauna then leave for an important business dinner of Jeff's, leaving Misty to babysit and try to keep Lottie away from Callie. It is a big dinner for Jeff, as he is meeting a couple of men who are potentially entering into a large contract with his furniture store for their hotel chain. The dinner, however, goes badly wrong, as it becomes clear that they do not seem very serious about actually entering into business with Jeff and Shauna calls them out on it, ultimately telling them that Jeff is too good for them. Afterwards, Jeff reminds Shauna how important the dinner was to him and chastises her for acting like she's the only person there.

After the brakes on Shauna's vehicle fail, Jeff decides that this and everything else that's been happening to their family lately is bad karma. He therefore goes on a WikiHow binge on how to restore good karma and decides to do things such as finding a long lost cat and volunteering at a nursing home. Shauna, however, is stunned when the nursing home in question turns out to be the Sunnyview Senior Home, which is Misty's workplace, as she believes it to have been Misty who tampered with her brakes.

Misty puts Shauna on tapioca duty, while Jeff ends up calling bingo games with Randy Walsh, who is doing community service at the home because of a DUI. Jeff's humor while calling out the bingo proves a huge hit with the residents of the nursing home, who ask him to take over in place of Randy. Later, back at home, Shauna presents Jeff with a cat. He is at first confused, asking if they have a cat now, but she reminds him of the lost cat he had told her about. He is stunned at her having found it, but she explains that it is simply a look-alike, but the family doesn't have to know that. He at first questions whether it's right for them to lie to the family about their missing cat, but when she asks him to not give her notes on her karma, he tells her that it's thoughtful and agrees that the cat looks just like the one in the missing cat poster.

The Evolution of Shauna & Jeff 🫢 Yellowjackets

  • "Shauna and I were sleeping together when Jackie and I were still a couple. Which is obviously, you know, a shitty, uh, thing. But there it is. Because the truth is Jackie was amazing. But so was my damn wife. And she still is. And I may have been an idiot then, but at least I was smart enough to see that. And this really is the best tuna quiche I've ever tasted, Mrs. Taylor."
  • "What? There's no book club?!"
